Scandinavian Minimalism Lost

Anna-Maria wrote a great post about the sudden urge to Swedify yourself after returning from Stockholm. There's something seriously inspiring about the casual chicness of the Swedes, even though they tend to resemble each other quite a bit.

The people I saw in Stockholm got me really excited about Scandivian minimalism, well-cut clothes and simple colour schemes.
But the inconvenient truth is that every time I try to dress myself that way I feel a sudden need to stick on a funny hat. Preferably with a bow.

coat: thrifted (originally from H&M)
shoes: Vagabond
scarf: H&M
hat: Doghead Accessories
bag: thrifted
long leather gloves: thrifted

I guess you can't teach a vintage lover new tricks.
But I actually did get some new, black well-cut pieces of clothing.
(In which I'll be probably sticking grannyish brooches in the near future.)

P.S. I'll be posting a lot more about Sweden's lovely capital next week.

my friend study abroad in germany last year and said he stuck out like a sore thumb because he wore colorful clothing and most of the germans wore neutrals. european style is so interesting to me.

I was eying on that jacket at H&M I think last year, you're lucky you found it second hand. :) I have the sister version of it which has a more militaristic shape to it. It's getting cold in Finland! P.S. You look great with your own "minimalism". Maybe we can see the Mervi Tapola minimalism tomorrow?

Why go minimalistic when there are funny hats with bows to be worn? There are not enough people wearing funny hats... You must do your part to keep the dream alive!
